The Hadley Upholstered Stool brings a more tailored kind of comfort to the places where people gather. Its high back, generous cushioning, and classic tack detailing give the stool a welcoming presence that feels refined without being formal.
Comfort That Invites You to Stay
The upholstered seat and supportive back make the Hadley an easy choice for long conversations, everyday meals, and the lingering moments that tend to happen around a kitchen or dining area. Its profile adds visual softness while still feeling composed and substantial.
Thoughtful Materials, Lasting Style
A solid wood frame provides a sturdy foundation beneath the upholstered details. The mix of wood, fabric, and tailored trim gives the Hadley a versatile character that can complement a range of interiors.
Built for Daily Routines
Each stool is made to order by the James & James team with careful construction and regular use in mind, so it can become part of the home rather than simply another seat in the room.

Inside Our Arkansas Workshop
Solid American Hardwoods
Every piece begins with premium American hardwoods — knotty alder, white oak, and black walnut — hand-selected, dried, and processed in our Arkansas facility before a single cut is made.
Precision-Shaped Components
Legs and pedestal bases are shaped to exacting specifications in our Arkansas woodshop, then hand-inspected and refined by our craftsmen before they ever reach the assembly floor.
Built by Hand & Made to Order
Each piece is built one at a time by our artisans to your specifications, using solid hardwood construction and time-tested joinery designed to hold up for generations of real family life.
Hand-Finished for Life
Our in-house finishers apply your chosen stain and protective topcoat by hand, ensuring even color, rich depth, and a durable finish that ages beautifully with use.
