About the Charred Ember finish
This Thaden Oval Dining Table is finished in Charred Ember on Alder. An intense, near-black brown that anchors a space with dramatic elegance. Its depth creates a sophisticated statement.
- Wood: Solid knotty alder sourced from the Pacific Northwest, the wood behind about 95% of our pieces. Its grain and natural knots stay visible under the stain.
- Finish: hand-applied stain sealed with a polyurethane topcoat that helps protect against water, stains and scratches.
- Character: grain, knots and color variation are part of solid wood and make every piece its own. Knots on top surfaces are filled.

Every piece is made to order, fully customizable in size, stain, and finish, and built to be passed down for generations.
