A thoughtful home is built on the pieces that display our lives—the books we return to, the treasures gathered over time, and the quiet objects that bring us joy. The Arlo Shelf provides a grounded, intentional backdrop for these meaningful belongings, balancing the strength of industrial steel with the natural warmth of solid wood.
Crafted for Everyday Living
Designed to feel right at home in a quiet study, a busy living room, or an entryway, this shelving unit is built to handle the weight of real life. The combination of a sturdy steel frame and solid alder wood shelves ensures a stable, enduring structure that won't sag under the weight of heavy novels, ceramic pots, or framed photographs. The Tobacco finish on the alder wood highlights the natural grain, bringing a rich, inviting character to your space that only real wood can provide.

About the Tobacco finish
This Arlo Shelf is finished in Tobacco on Alder. A warm, earthy brown with enduring appeal. Timeless and balanced, it brings a sense of thoughtful comfort.
- Wood: Solid knotty alder sourced from the Pacific Northwest, the wood behind about 95% of our pieces. Its grain and natural knots stay visible under the stain.
- Finish: hand-applied stain sealed with a polyurethane topcoat that helps protect against water, stains and scratches.
- Character: grain, knots and color variation are part of solid wood and make every piece its own. Knots on top surfaces are filled.
- See it first: stain looks different in every room's light, so we recommend ordering a sample before you decide.

Inside Our Arkansas Workshop
Solid American Hardwoods
Every piece begins with premium American hardwoods — knotty alder, white oak, and black walnut — hand-selected, dried, and processed in our Arkansas facility before a single cut is made.
Precision-Shaped Components
Legs and pedestal bases are shaped to exacting specifications in our Arkansas woodshop, then hand-inspected and refined by our craftsmen before they ever reach the assembly floor.
Built by Hand & Made to Order
Each piece is built one at a time by our artisans to your specifications, using solid hardwood construction and time-tested joinery designed to hold up for generations of real family life.
Hand-Finished for Life
Our in-house finishers apply your chosen stain and protective topcoat by hand, ensuring even color, rich depth, and a durable finish that ages beautifully with use.
