Vivien Sofa Table - Tobacco on Alder
Vivien Sofa Table - Tobacco on Alder
Custom, American Hardwood Furniture
Order real wood and fabric swatches to see how each finish looks in your space, lighting, and style before you commit.
Some of the most useful spaces in a home are the ones in transition. The Vivien Sofa Table gives those areas a purposeful surface and a grounded wood presence, whether it sits behind a favorite sofa, welcomes guests in the entry, or brings order to a hallway.
Tobacco on Solid Alder
This table is crafted from solid alder and finished in Tobacco. The rich, warm tone works with the alder's fine grain and natural variation, allowing the character of the wood to remain visible rather than uniform.
Designed for Everyday Rooms
With its clean, restrained lines, the Vivien can hold a pair of lamps, family photographs, or the objects that make an entry feel personal. It has enough presence to frame a room, yet its straightforward form leaves space for the rest of the home to speak.
Made for Lasting Use
Each Vivien Sofa Table is made to order by the James & James team. Solid-wood construction and a thoughtful profile make it a dependable part of the house's daily routines for years to come.
This item is made to order and ships in 8-10 weeks.

About the Tobacco finish
This Vivien Sofa Table is finished in Tobacco on Alder. A warm, earthy brown with enduring appeal. Timeless and balanced, it brings a sense of thoughtful comfort.
- Wood: Solid knotty alder sourced from the Pacific Northwest, the wood behind about 95% of our pieces. Its grain and natural knots stay visible under the stain.
- Finish: hand-applied stain sealed with a polyurethane topcoat that helps protect against water, stains and scratches.
- Character: grain, knots and color variation are part of solid wood and make every piece its own. Knots on top surfaces are filled.
- See it first: stain looks different in every room's light, so we recommend ordering a sample before you decide.
Our Customers Love Us
"I could not be happier with the level of customer service James & James provided. Also on an earlier order with the table, I made a mistake in the order and they went out of their way to make it right."

Precision-Shaped Components
Legs and pedestal bases are shaped to exacting specifications in our Arkansas woodshop, then hand-inspected and refined by our craftsmen before they ever reach the assembly floor.
