The Light & Natural Finish Sample Kit includes four solid wood finish samples: Satin White Oak, Oat on Oak, Almond on Oak, and Harvest Wheat on Alder. It allows you to see and feel each tone in your own home before we begin handcrafting your heirloom custom furniture. Lighting, wall colors, and existing decor all change how a light wood tone behaves, which makes a physical sample the surest way to choose.

Together, these light wood stains range from clean natural oak to soft gray-taupe and honey-toned gold. Satin White Oak offers a natural tone with a soft satin sheen, while Oat on Oak is a muted, softly weathered finish. Almond on Oak brings a light-to-mid brown with graceful grain, and Harvest Wheat on Alder adds golden hues with occasional weathered accents. Each is equally suited for modern spaces and classic, rustic homes.

James & James is a handcrafted furniture brand founded in 2011 in Springdale, Arkansas, specializing in solid hardwood furniture made to order in the USA. We design and build dining tables, beds, desks, chairs, and outdoor pieces by hand in our Arkansas woodshop, using premium American hardwoods including knotty alder, white oak, and black walnut. Every piece is fully customizable in size, stain, and finish, and select chairs and beds are crafted in partnership with Amish and Mennonite woodworkers in rural Indiana.
